This month’s full Moon, called the Sap Moon or full Worm Moon, reaches peak fullness at 1:48 P.M. EDT on Monday, March 9. Look for the spectacularly bright Moon as it rises above the horizon that evening.

This full Moon will also be the first of three supermoons in 2020—all occurring early in the year, the other two will shine in April and May. “Supermoon” is the popular nickname given to a full Moon that coincides with perigee, the point in the Moon’s orbit of Earth where it is closest to earth.

While at perigee, the full Moon appears a bit brighter and about seven percent larger than a typical full Moon. Yet, the differences between a supermoon and a regular full Moon can be very difficult to distinguish.

Full Moon names throughout history have been used to track the seasons. They often relate closely to nature. During this time of the year, the ground begins to soften enough for earthworm casts to reappear, inviting birds to feed — a mark of spring. This is where the name, full Worm Moon stems from. Roots start to push their way up through the soil, and the Earth experiences a re-birth, awakening from its winter slumber.

However, another name for the March Moon is the Full Sap Moon, as during this time of late winter, the sap of sugar maples starts to flow. Just the thought of warm waffles, savory French toast and buttery pancakes, topped with fresh maple syrup can beckon us to welcome this Full Sap Moon.

This full Moon is in Virgo and often those under the sensitive earth sign do enjoy cooking. So, take advantage of what Mother Nature presents to us this season, for your culinary delight.

With this Moon also comes the feeling of safety, which now is related to order and clarity and even emotions. You may have the need to organize everything chaotic and disorganized. It’s a good time to also be more tolerant and accept imperfections of life. Trust life to let it run its own way, not everything must be according to our expectations.

Organs influenced by Virgo Moon Sign are, pancreas, small intestine, cecum, colon, digestive tract, duodenum, rectum, sense organs: eyes and ears. These organs are now more sensitive so provide them with extra care.

As the Sap Moon approaches, these are four signs that will be most affected by this Supermoon:
Aries: You can’t avoid your feelings. No matter where you go, your feelings will follow. Our feelings and thoughts are part of us. Acceptance of where you’re at is important now. Sit silently under the luminescence of the March Full Moon to bring clarity on your heart and mind.
Taurus: We must learn repeatedly how to behave in situations that are in our control versus those that are outside our control. It will take courage to change the things that we can. Patience and wisdom will help us to accept what we cannot change. This Supermoon, Taurus will be tested in grasping the difference between these two situations. Always choose compassion and self-love. It's okay to put your needs first.
Cancer: With the moon as your ruling planet, this Supermoon will absolutely have you feeling watery: ie: emotional or under the weather or cravings for comfort and serenity. Honor your emotions but check your behavior. If you’re overreacting to something, ask yourself why? By examining these feelings and the origins they come from, you will set yourself free of limiting patterns.
Gemini: Your ruling planet, Mercury, is still in retrograde until the 10th. So, with this Supermoon there is the potential that plans or ideas may not develop as you planned. Issues around work or a romantic relationship may arise. Frustration may still grasp you after the retrograde, you may feel the effects of miscommunication. Practice patience and focus. When you’re working, be at work. When you’re with a friend, listen and be present. Mindfulness will affirm what’s important.
